- The new table visualisation introduces performance and usability improvements.
- Table visualisation improvements include text wrapping, improved cell inspection, frozen columns, and additional cell types where available.
- The XY chart visualisation is generally available.
- Canvas visualisations have improved flowcharting, connector styling, rotation, snapping, data links, and one-click actions.
- Visualisation actions are generally available, allowing dashboard panels to trigger supported actions where configured.
- Table action cells allow actions to be triggered from table rows where enabled.
- WebGL-powered geomap marker layers improve map performance and stability for larger datasets.
- Legend limits improve clarity and rendering performance for panels with very large numbers of series.
- Panel styles and copy/paste styling improve consistency and speed when configuring dashboards.
- Annotation improvements include better control, clearer display, clustering, and more granular time-region scheduling using Cron syntax.
- Graphviz panel support is available in preview for interactive diagrams where the plugin is enabled.
Transformations And Query Experience
- New and improved transformations include transpose, group to nested tables, format string, cumulative calculations, window calculations, regression/trendline analysis, and broader dashboard-variable support.
- SQL expressions allow users to combine and transform data from multiple queries using familiar SQL-style logic where enabled.
- Query editor improvements provide a clearer view of queries, expressions, transformations, and related alerting context.
- Visual query builders have improved support for time-series macros in SQL data sources.
Logs, Traces, And Investigation Workflows
- Logs Drilldown improvements make log exploration easier and more flexible.
- Traces Drilldown is generally available, providing a queryless workflow for distributed tracing analysis where trace data is connected.
- Investigations provide a unified workspace for bringing related signals together during troubleshooting where enabled.
- The logs visualisation has been redesigned for better performance, display options, and browsing.
- Logs Context has been rebuilt with improved surrounding-log exploration.
- Explore improvements include log filtering, log pinning, and forward-direction Loki search.
- Logs Drilldown now supports saving and resuming log explorations where enabled.
- OpenTelemetry log lines have improved display handling.
Alerting Improvements
- Alert rule management has been redesigned for faster and easier rule discovery.
- Centralised alert history provides a clearer view of alert state changes over time.
- Alert rule version history allows historical alert rules to be viewed, compared, and restored.
- Alert notification settings and notification policies have improved role-based access controls.
- Silences have improved role-based access control.
- Active Time Intervals replace the older Mute Timings naming and improve alert scheduling clarity.
- Alert rules can be imported from Prometheus YAML where supported.
- Pending periods have been added to alert states.
- Alerting notification APIs have improved provenance support for managed resources.
Administration, Governance, And Security
- Grafana Advisor is generally available and can identify health issues such as failing data source checks, outdated plugins, and misconfigured SSO settings.
- Grafana has completed migration from API keys to service accounts for improved security.
- Strong password policy support is available for environments using Grafana-managed authentication.
- SCIM user and team provisioning improves identity lifecycle management where enabled.
- SCIM configuration UI simplifies provisioning setup where supported.
